When I first heard Chamillionaire I wasn’t really a huge fan, his music was catchy but it didn’t really have much else going for it. Recently though, I must say that I am becoming a fan. His last hit, “Hip-Hop Police” was a pleasant surprise, a catchy song with substance that tackled the issue of media censorship and the rap industries troubles with the law, along with other controversial current events.
Today Chamillionaire released a new mix-tape, titled “Mixtape Messiah.” I’ve only had the opportunity to listen to one song off of it so far, but I love what I heard.
Check out Chamillionaire’s hilarious new song, “Internet Nerd’s Revenge.”:
After hearing “Whatever You Like,” one of rapper T.I.’s latest song on the radio multiple times, I simply had to find a way to listen to it more. Thanks to YouTube, I can listen to this extremely catchy song whenever I want.
“Whatever You Like,” is a song from T.I.’s upcoming album which is titled “Paper Trail.” Paper Trail is scheduled to be released on September 30th, 2008.

As a bonus, here’s another song from T.I.’s upcoming album ‘Paper Trail’, that I actually like better:
“No Matter What”:
T.I. is without a doubt my favorite current rapper, and I can’t wait for his new CD to be released. While Lil’ Wayne has become the de facto rap sensation during T.I.’s federal firearms inspired hiatus, with his latest CD T.I. will no doubt remind the world why he was, and still is KING.
This will be the first post in a weekly feature which will cover new music and new music videos. Each friday I will feature a few new songs and music videos that everyone should check out. This week start off by taking a look at the music video to N.E.R.D.’s, “Everyone Nose.” I though it was pretty cool how they worked in a bunch of old-school arcade game graphics into this music video:
Next, new music from Young Jeezy, featuring Nas. “My President,” is the latest in a line of rap tribute to Barack Obama’s presidential canidicy. This election is unique in the way that it has inspired so many musicians to get involved. Note, this isn’t actually a music video, rather more of a slideshow, but it features the song, so take a look:
Check back next friday for more music and music videos.
I didn’t know that The Game had a new CD coming out, but the music video for “My Life” featuring Lil’ Wayne of off his new album L.A.X. was all over youtube today. It’s pretty good song, but not as good as anything off of his first album; “The Documentary.” Game gets political on this track, going after Jesse Jackson and Don Imus:
So eat this black music,
And tell me how it taste now
And f**k Jesse Jackson
‘Cause it ain’t about race now!
followed later by:
Walk through the gates of Hell, see my Impala parked in front
The high beams on, me and the Devil share chronic blunts
Listening to the “Chronic” album, playing backwards
Shootin’ at pictures of Don Imus for target practice
My mind f**ked up, so I cover it with a Raider hood
Hopefully his new CD, which releases on August 26th will improve on The Documentary, because personally I felt that his second album, “Doctor’s Advocate,” was a step backwards.
.
While I was on YouTube I also found out that Gym Class Heroes has a new CD titled “The Quilt.” Gym Class really hit it big with their last CD, “Cruel As School Children,” and hopefully their new CD which releases on September 9th, 2008 will be a true breakthrough album for them. I was lucky enough to go to a Gym Class Heroes concert a few years ago, and they defintiley put on an awesome show, so I wish them success in the release of their new CD. Here’s the music video for “Cookie Jar,” a promising track off of the new CD :
