When I first heard Chamillionaire I wasn’t really a huge fan, his music was catchy but it didn’t really have much else going for it. Recently though, I must say that I am becoming a fan. His last hit, “Hip-Hop Police” was a pleasant surprise, a catchy song with substance that tackled the issue of media censorship and the rap industries troubles with the law, along with other controversial current events.
Today Chamillionaire released a new mix-tape, titled “Mixtape Messiah.” I’ve only had the opportunity to listen to one song off of it so far, but I love what I heard.
Check out Chamillionaire’s hilarious new song, “Internet Nerd’s Revenge.”:
Found this image hosted at ImageShack earlier today and thought it was pretty funny. Despite the exaggeration, its actually really accurate if you think about it. I never though about it before but coming back from the dead technically does make Jesus a zombie.

New music from T.I.
After hearing “Whatever You Like,” one of rapper T.I.’s latest song on the radio multiple times, I simply had to find a way to listen to it more. Thanks to YouTube, I can listen to this extremely catchy song whenever I want.
“Whatever You Like,” is a song from T.I.’s upcoming album which is titled “Paper Trail.” Paper Trail is scheduled to be released on September 30th, 2008.
“Whatever You Like”:
As a bonus, here’s another song from T.I.’s upcoming album ‘Paper Trail’, that I actually like better:
“No Matter What”:
T.I. is without a doubt my favorite current rapper, and I can’t wait for his new CD to be released. While Lil’ Wayne has become the de facto rap sensation during T.I.’s federal firearms inspired hiatus, with his latest CD T.I. will no doubt remind the world why he was, and still is KING.
For more than a hundred years now, the modern capitalist sytems has been a major driving force in countless new advances in technology, healthcare, and science. The free market’s superior ability to innovate was a major competitive advantage against authoritarian regimes like Soviet Russia, and their inefficient command and control economies.
So how is it then, than North Korea, an archaic 20th century command and control economy has created the latest weapon in the war on hunger?
According to an article on the BBC’s website the North Koreans, have developed a new type of noodle that significantly delays the ‘feeling’ of hunger.
According to the BBC article,
“The noodles were made from corn and soybeans…They left people feeling fuller longer and represented a technological breakthrough…the new noodles have twice as much protein and fives times as much fat as ordinary noodles.”
If these reports are true, this marks a significant achievemant in the prolong battle to end starvation in North Korea, and perhaps the rest of the developing world. If the North Koreans can mass produce these noodles and market them to other developing nations it could help millions of people, as well as its own floundering economy. Perhaps one day North Korea will be known less for exporting SARS missiles and weapons of mass destruction, and more for making a dramatic contribution in the humanitarian effort to end hunger.
Since the news comes from a source closely linked to the North Korean regime, it must be taken with a grain of salt (no pun intended). Yet if true, the news demonstrates that certain inefficiencies in the capitalist system can ONLY be remedied by government action. While I am generally a libertarian, I can’t discredit the notion that in certain instances the free market system does not provide adequate incentive for certain problems to be tackled.
I couldn’t help but laugh when I read this story in the Rocky Mountain News this morning. According to the article, an 85 year-old woman in Point Marion, PA managed to thwart a 17 year-old burglar by forcing the would-be burglar to call 911 on himself at gunpoint. The article describes the 17 year-old’s embarrassing predicament,
Smith heard someone break into her home Monday afternoon and grabbed the .22-caliber revolver she had been keeping by her bed since a neighbor’s home was burglarized a few weeks ago. “I said ‘What are you doing in my house?’ He just kept saying he didn’t do it,” Smith said.
This really is quite remarkable, while most 85 year-olds would probably have died of a heart attack at the site of an intruder in their house, this woman had the presence of mind to calmly walk into her bed room, grab her revolver and then make the thief call the police on himself. Thank God for the second amendment, truly one of the features that makes this country great.
Amidst the constant negative PR that guns recieve, its nice to see a story once in awhile about a law-abiding citizen making society safer as a result of excercising her right to own a gun.
While we’re on the topic of women today, another article from the Telegraph (are they doing a special feature on women today or what?) concludes that Women who are shorter, but have long legs are the most attractive.
According to lead researcher Dr. William Brown of Brunel University,”…shorter, slimmer females with long slender legs, a curvy figure and larger breasts are more attractive.”
On the other hand, tall men with broad shoulders and relatively short legs in comparison to the length of their upper body are the most attractive to women. The article cites Olympics Swimmer, and American heartthrob Michael Phelps as an example.
The reasoning behind this discrepency is symmetry. Numerous previous studies on attraction have found that symmetry is a key component of human attraction. Since the human eye isn’t nuanced enough to detect subtle imperfections in body symmetry, the human mind cheats by judging people based on their body masculinity. A tall man with broad shoulders is considered to have high body masculinity, which also suggests a greater degree of symmetry. Conversley, a woman with low body masculinity, possessing long legs and an hour-glass figure is considered to be likely to be more symmetrical.
It’s interesting to think that while people tend to believe that their attraction to people is based on personality, fate and other novel ideas, more than likely the vast majority of human attraction is dictated by deeply rooted evolutionary instincts and biochemical reactions.
For ages men have known that women take forever to get ready. Now there’s proof. According to the Telegraph:
The time women spend putting on make up and getting dressed works out at 3,276 hours over their lifetimes while men only devote 1,092 hours to looking their best.
That’s right, women take exactly three times the time that men do to get ready. What takes them so long? Well apparently they spend about half an hour showering and doing their hair followed by 20 minutes putting on make-up and 15 minutes applying nail polish.
So there you have it, now you know what takes your girlfriend/wife/mother/sister/etc. so long to get ready. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the effort that women take to look their best, but maybe, just maybe they could take a little less time…
